Troma Entertainment, Inc. has just acquired the award-winning and innovative Romanian movie, Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, which was created by Adrian Èšofei. He also wrote, produced, directed, and acted in this gut-wrenching terror extravaganza.

Be My Cat: A Film for Anne is Romania’s first found-footage horror movie about a young man in Romania going to shocking extremes to convince Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway to star in his film.

“Be My Cat takes meta-filmmaking to mind-bending levels and plays out like an art house snuff film. Simply calling it “unique” is an understatement. What we have here is a potentially revolutionary and, like the most impactful examples of uncompromising art, potentially dangerous. The line between fact and fiction has never been so terrifyingly and brilliantly blurred” – Dread Central, 4-Stars

Èšofei’s movie was Premiered at the Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal and went on to win numerous awards including “Best Film” at “A Night of Horror” International Film Festival in Sydney and the “Best Actor” award for Èšofei’s performance at the Nashville Film Festival in the United States. His acting was further described by critics as being “exceptionally strong”, “shockingly good” and “frighteningly natural”. “28 Days Later Analysis” feted the production, saying,

“The authenticity comes from exceptionally strong performances by an excellent cast. Sonia Teodoriu, Florentina Hariton, Alexandra Stroe and Adrian Èšofei are so convincing that, at times, it’s uncomfortable to watch.” – 28DLA

Troma Entertainment, Inc is planning a limited theatrical run of Be My Cat in the United States and will subsequently release a Special Edition Blu-Ray that will include bonus features and never before seen footage from the film.
