The Coolidge After Midnite Honors Lloyd Kaufman – Brookline, MA

posted in Events |

The Coolidge After Midnite film series is proud to honor Lloyd Kaufman for his commitment to truly independent film, and his ongoing contributions to midnite film culture.

We hope you’ll join us in applauding the tireless work of one of our favorite filmmakers before a screening of his cult classic, The Toxic Avenger! Lloyd will be alive and in-person to receive the inaugural Coolidge After Midnite Award, and will stick around for a Q&A on all things Troma!

Throughout the month of November, Coolidge Corner Theatre will be wasting their Fridays and Saturday nights to honor the films of Lloyd Kaufman. Widely regarded as the most beloved independently operated movie theater in the nation, the Coolidge has provided the Boston area with great films by championing art house and independent films throughout it 80-plus year history. Why it’s suddenly changing course is a mystery to the New York Times and all cinema media with good taste.

The series will begin with Tromeo & Juliet (11/6, 11/7) and continue every weekend with Class of Nuke ‘Em High (11/13, 11/14), The Toxic Avenger followed by a Q&A with Lloyd Kaufman (11/21) and closing with Poultrygeist (11/27, 11/28). Tickets can be purchased at the Coolidge’s After Midnite page: http://www.coolidge.org/programs/aftermidnite
